The plan focuses on the regional transportation improvements that should be implemented by 2035 and on into 2050 to create a balanced transportation system to serve the needs of the seven-county TBARTA region. It was developed through the combined efforts of tens of thousands of people - from elected officials, transportation agencies, planning organizations, and importantly, the general public - all dedicated partners in creating a transportation system that will ensure a vital region. Their contributions to envisioning economically healthy communities, where transportation choices support a high quality of life, have come about through collaborative efforts that are unprecedented in our region. Underpinning the entire planning process are the financial and organizational commitments of the Florida Department of Transportation.

This Master Plan is only the first step in addressing our transportation needs. TBARTA will continue to develop a strategic implementation program that encompasses prioritization of projects to build up to the envisioned 2035 plan, detailed corridor analysis to determine specific routes and station locations, funding strategies, options for operating the regional transit components, and other matters to assure a seamless network. We will also update the plan every two years in accordance with our legislation and ensure the vision continues to meet our needs and desires. We look forward to continued collaboration with our partners in developing the strategic implementation program and creating the physical and institutional frameworks that promote a connected region for our future.
