TAMPA, Fla. (February 3, 2022) – TBARTA, the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority, has once again been named one the Best Workplaces for Commuters for offering employees exceptional commuter benefits.

Best Workplaces for Commuters (BWC) promotes environmentally friendly commuting by encouraging multi-modal transportation and alternatives to reduce stress and traffic congestion. BWC annually honors a select group of workplaces in the United States that have achieved the Best Workplaces for Commuters National Standard of Excellence by providing an array of commuter benefits.

TBARTA made the 2022 list by offering employee commuter benefits including:

• Teleworking program
• Carpool and Vanpool program
• Emergency Ride Home program
• Transit pass subsidy of at least $30 per month

“The benefits we offer to local employers as FDOT District Seven’s transit demand management provider of commuter assisted programs are the same we offer to our own employees,” said David Green, TBARTA’s Executive Director. “TBARTA’s Commute Tampa Bay program helps other employers do the same. This not only reduces traffic congestion throughout Tampa Bay but also helps employers improve employee recruitment and retention.”

Commute Tampa Bay’s free services can advise and guide employers to establish a wide array of programs, including vanpool, carpool, telework, biking and more. More information can be found at www.CommuteTampaBay.com.

“TBARTA is one of the top employers in the nation offering high-level commuter benefits to their employees,” said Julie Bond, Program Manager, Best Workplaces for Commuters. “They give their employees the support they need to get to work and be at their best before, during, and after their workday.”

The BWC program offers designated organizations access to a range of support services to assess and promote non-driving commuting of employees, including organizational assessment and implementation toolkits, web-based tools and webinars, staff training, and information exchange.
